Here it is...

I got the pillows/table runner at Pottery Barn, on sale and that's why none of them match :) But, that's how I wanted it. I love the color orange so I added that as the accent color. I got all the brown furniture at RC Willies and the white furniture is Ikea. Thanks for all the compliments.

As promised a boy update...will come shortly! But as a teaser, kissing was more fun in my twenties, haha!!!

EVMCO (Eastern Valley Mormon Choral Organization)

Last night the choir I'm in had our Easter concert. It was FANTASTIC!! We sang to a sold out concert hall. It was truly a sight to see. Earlier in the week we had our final rehearsal and my friend comes up to me laughing. She said the guys think we are singing "Cheese Sauce" when we sing Jesus. We couldn't stop laughing about it the rest of the night. Especially during the song 'I Glory in my Jesus' when we sing that phrase a lot.
Getting ready to go on stage. UGH! The dresses are hideous up close, but look great on stage.

Emily sings next to me and I love her voice
Natalie encouraged me to audition for the choir.
As small group of the "Power house" back row. We sing 2nd alto and belt it out like mad! We joke around about being an oreo because I'm the only blonde in between brunettes. (I didn't get a pic of the girls who are on the right of me, who also have brown hair. )

feeling a little crafty and such

On Sunday afternoon I opened my bedroom door and saw this beautiful bird. I walked out on my balcony and was lucky enough to get it's picture. (this is my backyard, along with about 30 other condo's)
Good thing my zoom works.
This is my roommate.
My friend Valorie.

I was feeling crafty today. This magnet board use to be just plain maroon. Every time I'd walk by, I wanted to change it. So today I walked out my door and thought, "today is the day!"

I went to Michaels and bought white paint as a primer and yellow paint. Then found these stickers and went to work. The stickers were on sheets and then I placed them. Now I wish I could paint the wall!

Fiesta Bowl!

It's great that the Fiesta Bowl is in my back yard. I must say the drive out to Glendale is long! I'm so happy to have gone to both bowl games for FREE! And to have really great seats both times. Ben and I met up with some of his friends and we happened to have two empty seats next to us so we told them to come join us. The game was A-mazing!!

The view from our seats.
I need to make this blog private so I can share with you guys all the details. Ah, the world of dating! Yes, be glad you're not in it! :)

To Pb or not to Pb?

Who says you have to spend a lot of money to have fun decorations? I really like Pottery Barn styles, but not so much the prices on some things, like their center pieces. I have to admit I've found killer deals at Pb, like getting decorative branches for 99 cents that were reg. 35 dollars a twig, or my fun random throw pillows for under 8 dollars a piece. I wanted something new for fall because my big bowl of lemons just wasn't cutting it. After wondering around Pb, I found the table runner on sale and got the idea for the center piece. I went to Michael's to see what things they had and found the beaded twig things. Came home to see if I had anything that would work and found the pears, apples, pine cones and candle holder. After assembling the pieces that look like Pb , I spent around 35 dollars (candles were 25 dollars ugh!). The center piece I wanted to buy was 75 dollars. So to buy Pb or not to buy Pb? That is the question.

What, I'm in a Choir?

I joined a choir called EVMCO stands for Eastern Valley Mormon Coral Organization. I have to say I'm deeply overwhelmed for the opportunity to sing with such talent. I'm singing with people who have masters in vocal performance, who've sang professionally, and who have perfect pitch. Needless so say, I'm not any of those things. It's been awhile since I've had to audition for a choir, and I was happy it's wasn't too hard. The last time was in Boise when I sang in a soloing woman's choir where we all sang solos and 2 group numbers. At the audition I didn't know I was auditioning for a solo!! The first day of practice I was like, "WHAT! You want me to sing that alone!!!??" It was funny and they gave me the music; No backing out of it! This time I just sang a hymn and did scales so they could hear my range. I auditioned with 2 other girls and was happy to have the experience of singing solos so I wasn't so nervous. All of us that auditioned in my group made the choir.

We are singing a song in Latin and it's accapella, along with some traditional Christmas songs that have been rearranged by the directors. Sometimes at practice I just want to close my eyes and listen. The music is so beautiful!!

Our Christmas Concert is called 'Sing We all Noel' and it's December 1oth in Mesa at the Ikeda Performing Arts Center. Wish you all could come and hear the magical music!
